Gynecomastia is a condition that many men have where there is an excess amount of breast tissue that creates a more feminine chest appearance. Some men grow out of their gynecomastia, while others will require surgical intervention to create the more normal male chest appearance they desire. Gynecomastia is corrected through a procedure called male breast reduction and the technique used to achieve the reduction may vary depending on the amount of reduction required–in some cases liposuction alone may be able to do the trick, while other cases may require a more invasive approach.

Gynecomastia may be caused by a number of factors, but in and of itself does not pose any health risks. Many men feel extremely self-conscious and suffer from a lower self-esteem due their gynecomastia and in these cases a male breast reduction can help to bolster their body confidence.
